You and Robots – What is it to be Human?<Miraikan>

◆Exhibition Overview

This exhibition offers interactive experiences for a wide range of people and ages to enjoy watching and interacting with many different types of robots. Through our relationships with robots, we focus on the changes that people experience with their "bodies," "minds," and "lives," while asking the question, "what does it mean to be human?" This exhibition imagines what the future may look like for humans and robots.

◆Exhibition Content

Zone 1: What are robots?

he birth, and current state, of robots
When and how were robots created? Visitors can observe this chronological table that covers an entire wall, giving them an experience of the history of robots throughout time, as they progress from one to another, such as the "WABOT-1" (exhibited in April), "AIBO," and "ASIMO."

Zone 2: What is it to be you? What is it to be human?

Zone 2-1: What is the body?
What is the human "body?" Try moving actual robots or wearing robotics and experience it for yourselves.

Zone 2-2: What is the mind?
Taking hints from the many different ideas that develop in relation to the many different types of robots, as well as the waves of emotions we ourselves experience, let us think about what is the human "mind," or "spirit."

Zone 2-3: What is life?
Let us stop and think about how we humans live our lives, and what our human "lives" truly mean.

Zone 3: What is the future for you and robots?

Through the visions imagined by people in a variety of different industries and fields, and through installation exhibits you can experience for yourselves, let us think about the future of humans and robots.
